Radishes were first cultivated in China and are members of the mustard family.
If one wants to munch on to a spicy snack without putting on weight, radishes are a great alternative. A cup of sliced radishes would contain about 19 calories.
Here is how you can make your green salad using a radish.
1 tbsp l of lime juice
2 tbsp of orange juice
1 tbsp of white balsamic or red wine vinegar
3 tbsp of walnut
¼ tsp pepper
Salt to taste
4 cups of mixed greens
1 cup of thinly sliced red radishes
1 large apple cut into thin slices
1 peeled orange
½ cup of shredded carrots
¼ cup of coarsely chopped & toasted walnuts
¼ cup of feta cheese
Place dressing ingredients in a large bowl, whisk together, and set aside. Combine greens, sliced radishes, apple strips, orange sections & shredded carrots in a large salad bowl. Toss salad with dressing and place on four plates. Garnish each plate with walnuts and feta cheese.
