Make room for mushroom!

The healthy and delicious ingredient.

Mushrooms are the only vegetable and the second known source after cod liver oil to contain vitamin-D in edible form.
Adding them in your diet has advantages, since they have a number of health benefits.
No fats, very low carbohydrates, high proteins, vitamins and minerals, a lot of water and fiber.
Mushrooms taste delicious in a soup, in a sandwich, in a pizza or even a pasta.
They need careful storage. Here are some tips you need to keep in mind.
·         Avoid placing mushrooms near foods with strong odors or flavours. They absorb them like a sponge.
·         To avoid waste, try to buy mushrooms close to when you plan to use them.
·         If you need to store mushrooms for more than a week, consider freezing or drying them.
Here’s a 10minute recipe of ‘Creamy Mushroom Soup
Ingredients:
·         8 ounces fresh mushrooms
·         2 chopped onions
·         2 – 4 minced garlic cloves
·         2 tbsp butter
·         2 -3 tbsp corn flour
·         2 cups chicken broth
·         1/4 tsp pepper
·         1/4 tsp nutmeg
·         Salt to taste
Direction:
-Cut the mushrooms into slices.
-Melt butter in a cooker. Add in onions, garlic, and mushrooms. Cook until onions are soft.
-Add some water to corn flour in a small bowl & stir well before pouring it into the cooker or else it forms lumps. Now pour it into the cooker & keep stirring.
-Add the chicken broth & heat further. Sprinkle pepper.
-Heat sometime to thicken while stirring frequently.
Serve and enjoy!
